Senators Wyden, Cornyn (R-TX) introduce bipartisan bill to fight sex trafficking

Yesterday, Senators Ron Wyden and John Cornyn (R-TX) put forth a bipartisan bill to shut down human sex trafficking in America. The comprehensive legislation will allocate funds in part to set up shelters for abused women, beef up law enforcement, and provide legal aid and counsel.

“It’s time we started rescuing the victims of sex trafficking and imprisoning those who profit from human slavery,” said Wyden. “The federal government has a responsibility to catch and prosecute modern-day slave owners, and providing a realistic way out for their victims will help achieve that end.”
