Ron Wyden: Different. Like Oregon.

Senator Wyden, Attorney General Kroger, local DAs and law enforcement fight for tougher national anti-meth laws

Posted in Public safety.

Last week, Senator Ron Wyden joined Oregon Attorney General John Kroger, local district attorneys, local sheriffs, and Oregon pharmacists to propose tough new federal anti-meth legislation. Modeled on Oregon's successful ban on pseudoephedrine without a doctor's perscription, Senator Wyden is hopeful that nationalizing this model will help curtail meth use across the country.

“Meth manufacturing is a scourge that has been all but eliminated in Oregon thanks to a groundbreaking law that has shut down meth labs and put smurfers out of business,” Wyden said. “Now is the time to take Oregon’s success in the war against meth to the rest of the nation and eliminate this plague once and for all.”
