Senator Ron Wyden stepped up his criticism of the lack of federal regulation which led to the BP oil spill in the Gulf Coast region. In hearings at a Senate panel yesterday, Wyden sharply criticized the ongoing lack of federal regulation over the Minerals Management Agency (MMA).
"It is long past time to drain the safety and environmental swamp that is MMS," said Senator Wyden. "This agency has been in denial about safety problems for years."
