Ron Wyden: Different. Like Oregon.

Eugene Register Guard: Wyden's Eastside Forest Plan "needs and deserves strong support."

Posted in Environment, Jobs.

The Eugene Register Guard says it simply and well, writing today about Senator Ron Wyden's historic Eastside Forest Plan to create good timber jobs and protect Oregon's great natural beauty:

"Wyden’s plan is a rarity in the Northwest, where forest agreements occur with the same frequency as confirmed Bigfoot sightings. Anyone who watched longtime adversaries in Oregon’s logging wars standing side by side with Wyden as he introduced the bill last December understands this is a rare opportunity that should not be missed.

"Wyden’s plan needs and deserves the strong support of every member of the state’s delegation. If it fails, it may be years before another plan surfaces that offers a realistic hope of bringing peace to Oregon’s forests."

Opinion leaders from across Oregon agree: our state has never been closer to ending the longstanding timber wars, and Senator Wyden's solution is the answer.
