Ron Wyden: Different. Like Oregon.

Wyden breaks ground on clean energy and wins investment in high-tech Oregon businesses

Senator Ron Wyden is working hard to secure a bright future for two of Oregon's most promising industries: green, clean energy and high-tech manufacturing.

Last week, Senator Wyden joined Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski in Bordman to break ground on the new ZeaChem biofuels plant and tour the new Shepherd's Flat wind farm.

"Today, we celebrate two facilities that will reduce our reliance on oil, create jobs and further enhance Oregon’s reputation as the green energy capital of the world,” Senator Wyden said. “This is great news for the nation, for Oregon and for the people of Eastern Oregon.”

And just yesterday, after years of working with Senator Ron Wyden to expand their business, yesterday Oregon-based Home Dialysis Plus announced that they had won $50 million in private investment to expand their in-home kidney treatment operation. This will allow the company to market their product and will create many family-wage jobs right here at home.

"These are jobs that are going to be available to Oregon in the science of the future, the science of small stuff," Senator Wyden said.
