Ron Wyden sat down with Southern Oregon business leaders to discuss how to grow the Rogue Valley's budding e-commerce industry. The area already has twenty times the number of e-businesses as the typical community and is trying to expand and hire more Oregonians.
The meeting, the first to discuss a regional strategy for growing the industry, highlighted the importance of keeping the internet tax-free and build Oregon's innovation economy. Wyden wrote the law that has protected online consumers from paying sales taxes and has supported workforce training efforts to prepare Oregonians for skilled positions with these firms.
