Would President Trump do it? (Social Security and Medicare)

Which is it?

Donald Trump claims that he won’t touch Social Security and Medicare.

Yet, for decades Republicans have been pushing to privatize retirement security in America – breaking Medicare into a private voucher program and handing Social Security over to Wall Street. It’s written into the DNA of the GOP.

So, would President Trump sign into law the privatization plans of Republicans in Congress? I’d rather not find out.

I’ve been fighting to protect and preserve Social Security and Medicare since my time as co-founder of Oregon’s Gray Panthers. These are more than successful government programs – they are critical to preserving America’s middle class and keeping older Americans who worked their entire lives out of poverty.

Let’s make sure Republican privatization plans don’t see the light of day.
