Trump: "I alone can fix it."

We the people. United we stand. E pluribus unum. Yes We Can. Stronger together.

The story of our nation is the story of Americans taking on our challenges by coming together.

But last night at the GOP Convention, Donald Trump upended 240 years of history by saying "I alone can fix it." His supporters cheered, chanting "Yes you will!"

That's not how America works.

In our democracy, the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court share power. Legislation and budgets start in Congress, work through the House and Senate, and go to the President for a signature. And the Supreme Court determines whether those laws are constitutional.

No one person dictates change in the United States of America.

We're going to fight hard to keep Donald Trump out of the White House. And we're going to fight hard in the U.S. Senate for our democratic values and for our progressive priorities.

The stakes in this election are high.
