Even the playing field for women and minorities

I've had conversations with women and minority business owners across the state who've told me over and over they can't get loans to expand their businesses.

Last week, I introduced an amendment to the Senate Banking Bill that would encourage more lending to women and minorities across the country working to grow small businesses.

Unfortunately, the Republicans rejected it.

Without banks providing access to capital, it's very difficult for entrepreneurs to launch businesses. My amendment would have removed barriers by improving loan access. It's only fair.

I will keep fighting for women and minority business owners. Economic opportunity must be expanded to include all Americans.
