Affordability is Access
Expand access to affordable over-the-counter birth control with the Affordability is Access Act.
Women should have access to the health care they need when they need it. No extra charges. No asking permission. No interference from politicians. The Affordability is Access Act would make sure that when the FDA approves birth control pills for over-the-counter use, insurance would cover them with no extra cost to women.
Birth control is only truly accessible if, and only if, it's affordable. The Affordability is Access Act is a reasonable, two-pronged approach that builds on the progress of the Affordable Care Act, which required insurance companies to cover prescription birth control without cost sharing.
