A covenant we must keep

They put their lives on hold. They said goodbye to their families. They put on the uniform and many went into battle, risking their lives on our behalf.

The American people have a covenant with our veterans – one that we are duty bound to keep. That’s why I’ve worked throughout my career to keep that covenant, to honor the sacrifice of our vets, and fix the problems at the VA that have resulted in unacceptable lapses in care for those who have served America.

Thank you to our veterans and their families. We are forever indebted.
