Sign the Petition: Listen to the scientists
“Yes or no – do you believe that nicotine is NOT addictive?”
I went down the line and asked each of the seven Big Tobacco CEOs testifying at a 1994 congressional hearing.
No. Nope. No, sir. No way. Clearly no. Not the “classic definition” of addictive. No, I believe our products are not addictive.
Today, it’s the Big Polluters pushing lies about climate change. They’ve spent billions to deceive the public and elect science deniers to office. It’s going to take another big grassroots effort to turn the tide.
In the years after that ‘94 hearing, our anti-smoking laws were tightened, anti-smoking public health campaigns were launched, and we’ve seen a sharp decline in tobacco use, especially among young people.
We can do the same for climate change. By standing on the side of science, pushing back against the flat-earthers, and joining together in a full-court-press – we can get the job done once again.
