what's he hiding?

Why doesn’t Donald Trump want us to see his tax returns?

What’s he hiding?

Maybe there’s a “bombshell,” as Mitt Romney and Ted Cruz have suggested.

Or, maybe it’s just that he’s a lousy businessman who’s worth a lot less than he claims.

If Donald Trump insists on being the first presidential nominee in 40 years to refuse to disclose his tax returns, I say it’s time we make it a requirement.

I’ve introduced a bill, co-sponsored by Senator Elizabeth Warren, that would require ALL presidential nominees to release their returns.

As my friend Senator Warren points out, here’s what we do know: The last time Trump’s taxes were made public they showed he paid NO federal taxes at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada. For all we know, he’s paying zero taxes today. And he’s proud of it.

Trump has said he’s more than happy to dodge taxes because he doesn’t want to “throw his money down the drain.” In other words, Trump has no problem getting rich by letting the rest of us pick up his tab.

After all, Trump's hotels and casinos wouldn’t be worth a penny if the public didn't provide streets and sewers, or if there were no police or firefighters to keep us all safe.

Trump likes to think he did it all by himself. But the fact is that like all successful people, his success is only possible because we're all contributing to public services. And he needs to pay his fair share.

The American people deserve to know the truth about Trump’s taxes. I’m going to keep fighting to bring them into the light of day.
