Tell President Obama: Declassify the Torture Report

Before he leaves office on January 20, there’s something President Obama must do: Declassify the Torture Report.

Why? Because the report found torture does not work.

Yet, despite that fact, and the fact that torture is against the law, Donald Trump said he’d “bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding."

We can prevent torture by learning from our past and releasing this report.

Right now, it will be at least 12 years before the report will be declassified and made public since it will be archived as a presidential record.

But 12 years is 12 years too long to wait. The report needs to be declassified and made public immediately.

Making the report public now helps us hold the Trump Administration accountable and gives us ammunition to fight back against those who spread the patently false claim that torture is necessary and effective.

I’m fighting to have this report released before Republicans can bury it, and before the President-elect takes office and goes off the rails.

Add your name: Tell President Obama to release the full 6,700 page history of the CIA torture program!
