I'm tired of the games. I'm voting "no."

With their current stopgap spending bill, Donald Trump and the Congressional GOP have shown they’re willing to use anyone as a political bargaining chip.

This time, it’s children. Millions of children.

The bill does next to nothing to protect hundreds of thousands of Dreamers from being ripped away from their families. Brought here as small children, these young Americans have committed themselves to their communities and this country – the only home they’ve known.

And it’s not because there are no good options. Republicans could consider the bipartisan budget solution that would permanently protect Dreamers and fund critical services. Instead, they’re giving in to Donald Trump’s racist, cruel "build a wall/deport ‘em all" ravings.

That’s not all. The Republicans are also refusing to permanently fund the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which gives nine million children access to health care. Republicans had no problem giving away $1.5 trillion to the rich and giant corporations through their tax scam. But when it’s the health of 9 million low- and middle-income children on the line, suddenly there’s "not enough money."

It’s disgraceful. The partisan games stop now. When Mitch McConnell and the GOP are ready to stand up for American children, I’ll be here ready to talk.

Until then, I’m voting no.
