It’s not just about what we can do, but where we’re headed

Let's take a moment to exhale.

On Tuesday, after one of the highest-stakes Senate races in history, Georgia voters reelected Senator Raphael Warnock.

This means good things for our work in the Senate, as we can move ahead with building on the progress we've already made for the American people.

More importantly, our victory in this election is a fresh light on the horizon of our democracy. Despite MAGA Republicans polluting our discourse with dysfunction, spite, cruelty and lies, Georgians stepped up and elected a good, honest, compassionate Senator to represent them.

The choice between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker was exceptionally clear, and the race shouldn't have been at all close. Senate Republicans still put their party ahead of our country, and attacked Rev. Warnock shamelessly while desperately waving away the fact that Walker is unfit to serve.

We have a long way to go and a lot of work to do to defeat far-right extremism. But this week, our movement saw not just a victory, but a step forward. Let's take a moment to appreciate our hard work, and the progress we're making.

We can do this.
