The GOP won't rest until there's a politician in every exam room and bedroom in the country.
Yesterday, the Senate voted on a bill that would guarantee Americans access to contraception and birth control.
Republicans had a chance to show the country exactly where they stand on what should be a fundamental right – and the majority of them voted "no" and blocked a full floor vote.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Dobbs was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to efforts to control women's bodies. The GOP won't rest until there's a politician in every exam room and bedroom in the country.
Take the GOP-led effort to ban mifepristone. Or the law Louisiana just passed that makes abortion medication a controlled substance. Or the Alabama Supreme Court ruling earlier this year that effectively put an end to IVF in the state.
Republican lawmakers – at state and federal levels – have made it clear they've set their sights on everything from a national abortion ban to banning contraception. If Republicans are allowed to regain control of the Senate and White House, and maintain control in the House this November, they will go after our fundamental rights. We can be certain of that.
Our country is at a crossroads, and our fundamental constitutional rights hang in the balance. It's never been more urgent that we reject Republican extremism in every corner of our nation and elect unapologetically pro-choice leaders to Congress. Will you join our grassroots fight to defend and expand our Democratic majority and retake the House from Republican extremists?
I'm all in on this fight, and I hope you're with me.
