An update from DC on the Republican budget bill

Fighting every step of the way matters. That's the mindset I've brought as my team and I have countered the GOP's budget bill, and our work is making a difference.

Overnight, my staff on the Senate Finance Committee successfully got the Senate parliamentarian to remove key provisions of the Republicans' big bad budget bill. I'll spare you the nitty-gritty details and give you the bottom line for what it means: hundreds of billions of dollars of the GOP's planned Medicaid cuts were eliminated.

These are real wins that will limit the damage this bill causes if passed.

Democrats fought and won, and we'll keep fighting this morally bankrupt bill if they try and find new cuts to pay for their tax cuts for the rich.

But we are showing that we're not powerless. We are showing the importance of having committed people in government who never stop looking for ways to serve the common good.
