“Don’t eat carrot cake”
In Oregon, Medicaid covers about 1.4 million people — roughly one-third of the state’s population, including 57% of its children. The Oregon Health Authority estimates that the GOP’s recent budget bill could cost our state more than $1 billion in federal funding and could result in up to 200,000 people losing coverage.
And what’s the message that Dr. Mehmet Oz – the Trump administration’s head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services – has for everyone worried about losing health care? “Don't eat carrot cake. Eat real food.”

You’ve got to be kidding me.
I challenge Dr. Oz to look my constituents in the eye, hear their stories, answer their questions, and explain Republicans’ harmful healthcare cuts. I guarantee you, it has nothing to do with carrot cake.
Health care is already disappearing as a result of the disastrous Republican budget bill, and Dr. Oz’s comments are an example of how completely out of touch the Trump administration and the GOP are.
We can’t let their disregard for human life stop our fight. So will you join me and chip in to help us amplify our message and make sure folks know the truth about the GOP’s harmful policies?
Onward,
Ron
