Crater Lake National Park is a national jewel

Crater Lake National Park is a national jewel in Southern Oregon. From day one of Donald Trump's presidency, he's taken aim at the National Park Service through steep budget and staffing cuts. It's painfully clear that Trump is hellbent on destroying national treasures like Crater Lake, which has been beloved and visited by millions of people from around the world.

Last month, I visited Crater Lake to sound the alarm on the consequences Donald Trump's budget cuts will have on national parks, including Oregon's own Crater Lake.

Ron speaks at Crater Lake

Earlier this year, thousands of National Park and U.S. Forest Service workers were fired under the guise of necessary "budget cuts" from the Trump administration.

Parks are understaffed. They don't have the money they need for repairs. Trash is piling up. And they don't have the manpower to handle busy tourist seasons. We will not sit idly by as the Trump administration commits the largest jewel heist of our national treasures, and we must continue to advocate for the protection of our public lands.

Our parks are hurting, and together, we must stand up for them. National parks are our national inheritance, and we owe future generations our strongest possible commitment to protect these national treasures.

More soon,

Ron
