My question for RFK Jr.:
In recent weeks, Oregonians have been writing and calling my office to tell me they're unable to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine. This is a direct result of HHS Secretary RFK Jr.'s unending crusade against accurate information and health safety.
Instead of finding ways to help families better afford their medical bills and access the best possible care and medicine, he is singularly focused on his anti-vaccine mission, despite promises during his confirmation that he wouldn't stand in the way of vaccines.
So here's my question for RFK Jr.: how many preventable child deaths are an acceptable sacrifice?
His conspiracy theory-fueled actions have real consequences for my constituents. I'm not going to stop fighting to hold him accountable.
I'm encouraged by Oregon's recently announced partnership with several other states to share information and access for vaccines (already, we've guaranteed that anyone over the age of six months can get a COVID vaccine). This is a critical health care alliance that demonstrates the growing efforts across the country to save our public health from the Trump administration's attacks – but to hold the line, we ultimately need a Congress willing to fight for truth and science.
Onward,
Ron
