Trump’s election interference
Recently, the U.S. Postal Service announced it would only deliver mail-in ballots to states that share their voter lists with the Trump administration so it can create a national voter database. This is a shameful cave-in to a failing president who's shown he'll do anything to suppress democracy.
Oregon has been voting by mail for over 30 years. Mail-in voting is safe, easy, and efficient. It results in higher voter turnout, and contrary to what Donald Trump wants everyone to believe, has lower fraud rates of any voting system in the country.
Since he took office last year, Trump has been trying his hardest to suppress voting ahead of consequential midterm elections this November.
He knows his platform of pardoning pedophiles and jacking up gas prices isn't a winning formula, and now he's afraid of losing power.
Trump wants access to this data — including names, addresses, and unique barcodes for all individuals who vote by mail — so he can spin a false narrative of voter fraud and justify actions to suppress ballot access.
I'm fighting like hell to defend vote-by-mail this fall. And we're not about to let Donald Trump create his own set of "facts" to undo the system we know works and makes democracy easier for all.
Onward,
Ron
