It’s time to rein in these greedy corporations

The last few years, our country has experienced an unprecedented economic crisis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of American families were forced to make difficult choices between paying rent and buying groceries.

Meanwhile, our nation's biggest corporations raked in record profits and rewarded their wealthiest shareholders and CEOs with even bigger stock buybacks.

This corporate greed can't continue to go unchecked.

Under Democrats' historic Inflation Reduction Act, which passed into law last year, I was thrilled to secure a brand new tax on corporate stock buybacks.

This is a great start, but more needs to be done to hold corporations accountable for their profiteering.

Each week, there's a new headline about a record-breaking stock buyback, while the same companies continue to raise their prices on household necessities and force working families to foot the bill.

That's why I'm continuing the fight in the Senate by introducing brand new legislation to QUADRUPLE taxes on corporate stock buybacks.

You read that right.

It's past time that corporations paid their fair share, and I won't stop leading the way on this important fight in the Senate to level the playing field for working families.

Together we can create an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
