The last time the DOJ wasn’t independent was Watergate

Once again, Republicans reneged on their duty to Americans and pushed through the confirmation of Todd Blanche as Attorney General despite glaring red flags about his ability to be the people's lawyer instead of Donald Trump's.

Republicans took Blanche at his word that Trump's desired DOJ slush fund (to bail out political allies — including January 6th insurrectionists) was dead. But without meaningful written and legal proof, how are we to take the words of the Liar in Chief and his former personal attorney seriously?

Aside from the potential loopholes that can be found within the Justice Department, Blanche himself has refused to pledge that he will conduct the DOJ independently from the White House.

The last time the Department of Justice wasn't independent was Watergate. I remain committed to shutting down Trump's $1.8 billion slush fund once and for all and fighting for full accountability.

But this is one more reason why we need to flip the Senate blue in November, and retake a trifecta of power in 2028. We have to send Republicans packing if we want justice and accountability for Trump's corruption. So I'm asking: will you pitch in to keep our efforts to flip the Senate in November going strong?
