A rotten, dysfunctional mess.

Tax Day is around the corner.

While the rest of us pay our taxes in full and on time, many of the biggest multinational corporations and wealthiest Wall Street billionaires are finding ways to weasel their way out of paying their fair share.

The profitability of the world’s largest corporations, and the Wall Street players that lend them money, depends on the taxes paid by working Americans.

Let’s get a few things straight about what we pay for as taxpayers:

As taxpayers we all pay for scientific research that benefits everyone.

As taxpayers we all pay to keep our highways and infrastructure in working order.

As taxpayers we all pay to educate our children and our workforce.

As taxpayers we all pay to keep our country and our allies safe.

As taxpayers we all paid to save our economy when Wall Street crashed.

That’s why I find the loopholes, carve-outs, and special deals embedded in America’s rotten, dysfunctional tax code so revolting.

Wealthy corporations and Wall Street billionaires have managed to rig the tax code in such a way that they get out of paying their fair share while profiting from the taxes paid by the rest of us.

I'm going to keep fighting to fix the tax code and close these monstrous loopholes that let these power players off the hook. It’s time they paid their fair share.
