Protecting our beautiful state
As a proud Oregonian, I have a deep, unwavering appreciation for the natural beauty of our state and the endless outdoor spaces and opportunities it has to offer. That's why this Earth Day, I'm as committed as ever to protecting our great state's clean air, water, and land for future generations.

To preserve Oregon's rivers, mountains, coasts, and valleys, all of us must be a part of a greater movement to save our planet. We must tackle the climate crisis by moving toward a clean energy future. But today – the 56th annual Earth Day – that future is deeply uncertain.
Earlier this year, Trump's EPA took two drastic steps to impede the fight against climate change.
It will consider only the impact on industry when regulating pollution, and no longer the value of lives saved.

Then, the EPA rescinded what's been known as the "endangerment finding." The endangerment finding, which was finalized in 2009, is the bedrock scientific determination underpinning the EPA's ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. Without it, it's open season for big polluters to run roughshod over our communities.
Trump's anti-climate friends benefit from a system where dark money can shift elections, and where speech can be bought. But I refuse to give in to intimidation and massive corporate spending, and I'll never lose sight of this truth: we still have the power to pass transformative environmental policies that secure our children's and grandchildren's future.
I'll never take my state, my country, or my planet for granted, and I remain committed to a world with opportunities that are sustainable. If you're with me, please pitch in to help me continue to fight for progress in the Senate and elect pro-climate Democrats across the country.
More soon,
Ron
